1948: Creation and Catastrophe

Introducing main topics from a documentary “1948: Creation and Catastrophe” and a visual presentation by film's co-director, Prof.Dr. Ahlam Muhtaseb


Co-director and co-producer Prof.Dr. Ahlam Muhtaseb will present her 10-year-long journey into making the documentary 1948: Creation & Catastrophe — about the year 1948 and its catastrophic consequences for the Palestinian people. The documentary, which was filmed in 6 countries, is based on thousands of pages of research, archival materials, and most importantly, the oral histories of the Israeli and Palestinian sides.Overcoming the obstacles faced during these 10 years will be the focal point of this visual presentation that will touch upon issues of access, privilege, participants’ trust, working in military zones, and other relevant subtopics.
