Monash Academy Orchestra: Firebird

Premieres of works by Iain Grandage (2018 Monash University Ed Byrne Commission) and Ian McQueen are programmed alongside Stravinsky’s masterwork ‘The Firebird', in a concert that pays tribute to the old classics while celebrating the new.

Iain Grandage: New Work (world premiere)

Ian McQueen: Achior’s Confession (world premiere)

Aribert Reimann: Interlude 3 and Habe ich mein leben retten können from Lear

Handel: Cara Sposa from Rinaldo

Stravinsky: The Firebird (1945 version)

Natalia Raspovova – Conductor

Hamish Gould – Countertenor (Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music Concerto and Aria Competition 2017 winner)
