Inaugural Monash ACIS Postdoctoral Fellow
We are delighted to welcome Dr Matteo Dutto to Prato, the inaugural recipient of the Monash ACIS Postdoctoral Fellowship.
This fellowship has been made possible by the generous support of the Australasian Centre for Italian Studies (ACIS), in collaboration with the Monash University Prato Centre, and the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University.
Studying the MITS readies students for a globally oriented career

“I wasn’t thinking about career prospects, money, corporate ladders, or any of those ‘real-world’ practicalities. All I knew was that I wanted to speak foreign languages.”
That’s Rachel King. She’s a recent graduate of the Master of Interpreting and Translations Studies (MITS) and is currently based in Lyon, one of France’s cultural melting pots that radiates both history and sophistication.

The Japanese Studies Centre is hosting a postgraduate symposium to be held at Monash University. This symposium centres on the theme of ‘Race and Diversity in Japan and Japanese Studies’—a theme that reflects the diversity of research topics in the discipline of Japanese Studies, while also highlighting the growing diversity of junior scholars conducting interdisciplinary research on Japan.
