New Korean Language Teacher at Monash

Monash University news

Monash University Korean Studies would like to welcome a new Korean language teacher. This semester (S1, 2019) HeeKyung Ahn will be teaching ATS1171/2171 Korean Introductory 1. Heekyung previously taught for three semesters at the University of Queensland while she was studying for a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. She has also worked at Charles Sturt University and the Holmes Institute in Melbourne as an academic advisor and learning management coordinator. Prior to coming to Australia from South Korea in 2012, she spent seven years working in primary schools in Korea for seven years.

Monash University Korean Studies Student Wins Language Award

Ken Kangdi Fu has won the 2018 Prize for outstanding first year Asian language student in Korean. This prize is awarded by the Australian-Asian Association of Victoria which holds the presentation of the AAA Asian Language Awards each year to recognize outstanding first year Asian language students from this academic year in each of Victoria’s universities where Asian languages are taught.
