Now live! Animation: Wangilatha Wangu nga Kiyawatha (2017)
The 2017 animation Wangilatha Wangu nga Kiyawatha (Singing Songs and Telling Stories) is based on a book of songs and stories written and illustrated by Brendan Kennedy in Tati Tati, Mutti Mutti, Latji Latji and Wadi Wadi languages of North Western Victoria around Robinvale, and published by the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages in 2014.
These animations are produced by the Monash Country Lines Archive (MCLA), a collaborative Monash University project between a team of researchers, digital animators and postgraduate students from the Monash Indigenous Studies Centre (MISC), Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Information Technology. The MCLA demands intellectual engagement in regards to issues associated with how best to construct a living archive that is a decolonised space in which communities are happy to see their material stored. It also provides an exciting place for scholars to work and share knowledge.
