Jazz and Popular Music Audition Preparation Short Course 2019 is a two-day course for jazz/popular instrumentalists and vocalists. This course will explore the performance and ensemble processes that build the skills required to audition for entry to the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, and build an understanding expectations for BMus. We encourage both mature age students and students currently studying years 9 -12 to apply.

This course will include performance and ensemble processes that will assist in the building of skills that focus on attaining the standards of the audition requirements.

  • instrument specific workshops (and composition workshop)
  • ensemble workshops
  • performance workshop

Please note: Drum kit, guitar and bass amps, pianos, vocal P.A (and microphones) and music stands will be provided.

Students need to bring their instruments and for guitar and bass - leads) drum cymbals and sticks, horns, and vocal microphone (if you have one).
