National Centre for Australian Studies

The National Centre for Australian Studies (NCAS) is the world’s premier centre for Australian Studies. Established over 25 years ago as a special initiative of the Australian government, the Centre hosts more quality research projects, attracts more substantial funding, and fields more teaching offerings than any comparable Australian Studies program across the globe. We engage the nation, the region and the world through an ambitious program of scholarly and community outreach.

NCAS acknowledges the traditional owners and elders past and present of the lands on which Monash University operates. For the next three years our priority areas are Addressing the Anzac Centenary, Engaging the Asian Century and Exploring the Landscape of Contemporary Australia.
