Lana Stephens, a current HDR candidate in the Monash-Warwick combined degree program, has been awarded ACIS Cassamarca Scholarship to study in Italy in 2018. The committee was reportedly very impressed by the calibre of the application for Lana's project entitled Theologia ficinianum: intellectual exchange and spiritual renewal in Late Quattrocento Florence.

With the benefit of this scholarship Lana will access archival materials on the enigmatic figure of Marsilio Ficino, a Renaissance Italian thinker who worked to integrate the ideas of Neoplatonism into Christian theology without being declared heretical by ecclesiastical authorities. Lana's research continues a strong tradition of Medieval & Renaissance studies at Monash and its partner institutions in the Prato Consortium for Medieval & Renaissance Studies.

Congratulations Lana!
