Associate Professor Leanne Weber from the Border Crossing Observatory at Monash University is inviting Australian health care professionals and advocates to help her investigate how immigration controls are affecting the provision of health care within the community by completing a national on-line survey.
Topics covered include access to health services by non-citizens, information exchange between health care providers and immigration authorities, visits to health care providers by immigration officials, and actions taken by health professionals to support patients experiencing immigration problems.
The survey questions are designed to be completed purely on the basis of personal experience. No specialist knowledge is needed. And it is not necessary to have knowledge or experience about all of these topics in order to take part. Your answers to any one or more of the questions will be invaluable in trying to paint a picture of the ways in which immigration controls are impinging on healthcare environments.
No identifying information is being collected about either service providers or individuals, so the privacy of participants is protected. You can find out more and access the questionnaire via this link: https://surveymanager.com.au/anon/2331.aspx
