Monash Arts alumni, staff and students at the 2017 Global Leaders’ summit

The second Global Leaders' Summit was held on 5-6 September 2017, with global alumni ambassadors convening at Monash's Clayton campus.

The high level event was hosted by Monash VC, Professor Margaret Gardner, who says that the Global Leaders' Summit:

“gives our most highly regarded alumni and international ambassadors the opportunity to help shape the future of our University and, through their contribution, make a genuine impact for those who live in the diverse communities we serve.”

Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sharon Pickering, facilitated a ‘Global Development' session designed to showcase research excellence through presentations by esteemed Monash researchers, highlighting their work tackling global challenges.

Monash Arts/Law Alumni Helen Sawczak (National CEO Australia China Business Council), and Karl Redenbach (CEO Live Tiles, New York) spoke at the ‘Partnering for Innovation and Enterprise' session.

Arts alumni Charles Caldas (CEO Merlin BV), Alicia Stephenson (CEO SC Group and Millennial Mentor) and Deanne Weir (MD Content Aggregation and Wholesale, Foxtel) were also invited to participate in the summit this week, as well as Monash Arts Associate Dean of Education, Associate Professor Sarah McDonald, and Bachelor of Global Studies students, Camille Murphy and Hamish Millerd.
